Our Mental Health First Aid Modules offer a comprehensive guide to understanding and providing support to individuals experiencing mental health issues. In this section, you’ll find a range of modules covering critical topics, such as understanding mental health problems, developing effective listening skills, and addressing specific concerns like depression, anxiety, suicide intervention, and substance abuse. Attitudes to Mental Health Issues

This module focuses on understanding and challenging common myths and misconceptions about mental health. It encourages participants to develop empathy and foster a non-judgmental approach to mental health.

Recovery

This module emphasises the importance of supporting individuals in their mental health recovery journey. Participants learn about various treatment options, coping strategies, and resources available to help people regain control over their mental health.

Alcohol & Drugs

Addresses the impact of alcohol and drug use on mental health. It focuses on understanding the relationship between substance use and mental health problems, identifying the signs and symptoms of substance misuse, exploring the risks and consequences

Suicide

This module addresses the sensitive topic of suicide, providing participants with the knowledge and skills to identify the warning signs and effectively intervene to prevent suicide.

Listening Skills

This module teaches participants the fundamentals of active listening, which includes maintaining eye contact, showing empathy, providing non-judgmental feedback, and potential barriers to effective listening

Self-harm

This module focuses on understanding self-harm, its causes, and its effects. Participants learn how to recognize signs of self-harm and provide appropriate support and resources to individuals in need.

Depression

This module explores the different types of depression, their causes, and symptoms. Participants learn to recognise the signs of depression and provide appropriate support and resources to those affected.

Anxiety

This module covers the nature, causes, and symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks. Participants learn how to recognize and manage these conditions and provide support to those affected.

Psychosis

This module focuses on understanding psychosis, it’s causes, & symptoms. Learn how to recognise early warning signs and provide appropriate support & resources to individuals experiencing these conditions.
