Support someone in crisis

Training to help people feel better prepared when someone may be in significant distress, including how to respond calmly, listen and consider immediate safety and further support.

Being concerned that someone may be in crisis can feel frightening. People may worry about saying the wrong thing, making the situation worse or not knowing what they are expected to do.

Training cannot remove every uncertainty, but it can give people a clearer framework for responding. This may include staying calm, listening, asking direct questions when appropriate, considering immediate safety and understanding when professional or emergency support may be needed. The courses below approach crisis support from different perspectives.
